UNIT 4 : WHAT DO WE LIKE ABOUT ANIMALS ? (31-1-22)

 We all love animals in first grade! Today we started unit 4 and we talked about animals. 

(A todos nos encantan los animales en primero. Hoy empezamos la unidad 4 y hablamos sobre los animales)

In 1ºA we talked about our favourite animals and we drew our favourite animals in our notebooks. We will do this activity with 1ºB tomorrow.

(En 1ºA hablamos sobre nuestros animales favoritos y dibujamos nuestros animales favoritos en nuestro cuaderno. Haremos esta actividad con 1ºB mañana)

1ºB students worked on animal vocabulary , they played a memory game and teachers helped them to write the unit words step by step. We also  stuck the unit  stickers on page 39. 1ºB students have to finish  pages 44 and 45 in their Activity Book for homework.

On Friday we celenbrated "Peace Day". First graders made two beautiful kites and we talked about Dr. Martin Luther King. Now we know what peace means!

EXTENSIVE READING : THE BOAT RIDE ( 27-1-2022)

Yesterday we did an English exam so today in 1ºA  we relaxed and read aloud. We read pages 44 and 45.

Ayer hicimos el examen de inglés asi que hoy en 1ºa nos relajamos y leímos.  Leímos las páginas 44 and 45.

We also remembered some letter sounds like u and w. Además recordamos los sonidos de algunas letras.

 Today we did pages 42 and 43 in our Class Book. We also counted up and down from 0 to 50. We took the book home to study for the exam.

 Today 1ºB students did what 1ºA did yesterday in English ( unit 3 revision videos and questions with have got and can) 1ºA students practiced the tongue twister with teacher Miriam.

UNIT 3 REVIEW ( 20-1-2022)

 Today 1ºA students watched the revision videos of the book. We practiced the vocabulary and the grammar (verb have got and can). We will do pages 34 and 35 from our Activity book.1ºB practiced the next tongue twister with Miriam and they will do these activities tomorrow.

VERB HAVE GOT (19th JANUARY)

 Today we revised the verb have got in its three forms (affirmative, negative, and interrogative) We did an oral activity about it with Frances or Amanda and the teacher. Then two students did the same activity as the teachers. We also revised the toy's vocabulary.

Hoy repasamos el verbo have got en sus tres formas (afirmativa, negativa e interrogativa) Hicimos una actividad oral sobre ello con Frances o con Amanda y la profe. Después dos compañeros hicieron la misma actividad que las profes. También repasamos el vocabulario de los juguetes.

Then we did Activity book page 32 in the class and we will finish 33 at home. ( Después hicimos la página 32 del Activity Book en la clase y terminaremos la página 33 en casa)

DAILY ACTIVITIES 17TH - 18TH JANUARY (18-1-2022)

 Yesterday in 1ºA and B we talked about what we could do in the park. We read page 40 in the Student's Book. In 1ºB we drew three activities that we usually do at the park. Then we wrote sentences with the verb can. . For example     (Ayer en 1ºA y B hablamos sobre las cosas que podíamos hacer en el parque. Leímos la página 40 del Student's Book. En 1ºB dibujamos en nuestro cuaderno tres cosas que normalmente hacemos en el parque. Después hicimos frases con el verbo can como por ejemplo)

Today we worked on the sound of the letter p and the -oo- sound like in the book. We also did  phonics on page 41 and watched the Alphablocks (letter p and -oo- again)

LEARNING THE NEGATIVE FORM OF CAN (13-1-2022)

 Today the students of 1ºA learnt the negative form of the verb can. We use CAN'T or CANNOT when we don't have the ability to do something. Hoy los alumnos de 1ºA aprendieron la forma negativa del verbo can. Usamos CAN'T o CANNOT cuando no tenemos la habilidad de hacer algo todavía.

For example:

Blue Clue can ride a horse but he can't play tennis.

Blue Clue puede montar a caballo pero no puede jugar al tenis.

Blue Clue can skateboard but he can't ride a bike.

We did pages 38 and 39 in our Student's Book . Then we will do pages  30 and 31 of our Activity Book.  Hicimos las páginas 38 y 39 del Student's Book. Después haremos las páginas 30 y 31 de nuestro Activity Book.

1ªB students did the tongue twister contest with Miriam. Santiago was the winner of today's tongue twister. Good job Santiago!

 REUNIÓN DE FAMILIAS ONLINE DEL SEGUNDO TRIMESTRE

Estimadas familias, el próximo lunes 17 de enero realizaremos la reunión colectiva del segundo trimestre.

SUPERHEROES (13-1-2022)

Today we made sentences in our notebook to explain what our favourite superhero could do. We used the verb can. Our language assistant Frances also taught us some flashcards with  verbs like fly, ride a bike, play football, jump, climb, run, walk... and we learnt them and tried to guess the verb. We also started  pages 28 and 29 in our Activity book and we will finish the listenings at home.

Hoy formamos frases en nuestro cuaderno para explicar lo que nuestro superhéroe podía hacer. Usamos el verbo can. Nuestra auxiliar de conversación Frances nos enseñó unas tarjetas con imágenes con verbos como volar (fly), montar en bicicleta (ride a bike), jugar al fútbol (play football), saltar (jump), climb (trepar),  correr (run), andar (walk)... y las aprendimos y después tratamos de adivinar las palabras sólo con la imagen. También empezamos las páginas 28 y 29 de nuestro Activity Book  y acabaremos nuestros listenings en casa.

TALKING ABOUT SUPERHEROES (12-1-2022)

 Superheroes are fantastic! We like them a lot! We talked about what superheroes and superheroins can do.  For example: 

Los superhéroes son fantásticos. Nos gustan un montón. Hoy hablamos de lo que los superhéroes y las superheroínas pueden hacer. Por ejemplo:

The Batman can drive a car. (Batman puede conducir un coche)

Supergirl can fly.  (Supergirl puede volar)

Green Arrow can shoot arrows.  (Green Arrow puede disparar flechas)

Ironman can design armours. (Ironman puede diseñar armaduras y trajes de superhéroe)

Captain America can protect himself with his shield. (Capitán América puede protegerse con su escudo)

Wonderwoman can throw a lasso.  (Wonderwoman puede tirar su lazo)

Spiderman can climb buildings. (Spiderman puede trepar por los edificios)

FIRST DAY OF THE SECOND TERM (10-1-2022)

 Happy New Year 2022!  Today we had an assembly to talk about Christmas. All the students talked about their holiday and what they did during that time. We also talked about the Three Wise Men and the presents they gave us. Then we drew a beautiful drawing of these presents. 

¡Feliz año nuevo 2022! Hoy tuvimos una asamblea para hablar sobre la Navidad. Todos los alumnos nos contaron algo sobre las vacaciones y lo que hicieron en estas vacaciones. También hablamos sobre los Reyes Magos y los regalos que  les dejaron debajo del árbol. Después hicimos un bonito dibujo en nuestro cuaderno sobre todo ello.
